The Friday Five
1. Do you wear any jewelry? What kind? Four gold earrings, a watch, my Notre Dame class ring on my left hand, and a necklace with a cross at the end.
2. How often do you wear it? Um, I never take them off.
3. Do you have any piercings? If so, where? I have four piercings, two in each ear. I used to have a fifth, which was in the cartilege area, but I took it out once briefly and was never able to put it back in. One of these days I'll get it done again.
4. Do you have any tattoos? If so, where? No, but I'd like one.
5. What are your plans for the weekend? Tomorrow I hope to be able to see a bunch of movies! Chicago is actually here. My jaw literally dropped when I saw that. Catch Me if You Can and El Crimen del Padre Amaro are also on my list. Then I fly back to school on Sunday.
Last week's friday five.

1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year? Getting the clerkship for spring semester. It was a wonderful experience, and the people in the firm were really nice and treated me fairly. That's all I can ask for.
2. What was your biggest disappointment? Not writing as much as I would have liked. It's my passion, yet I hardly do any of it. I could also mention grades, but I could care less about them now.
3. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions? I always think about making resolutions, but I never get around to them till a few days after. They're always the same too, but maybe this year will be different.
4. Where will you be at midnight? In bed watching tv.
5. Aside from (possibly) staying up late, do you have any other New Year's traditions? When in Mexico, we always eat the grapes.

Well, grades have started to go up. So far, I only saw one, and I'm happy. I received a 'B' in Health Law. I admit I wish it were higher, but I can't complain, right? I beat the curve in this one, and that's just good. I will cry though if I get anything lower than an 'A-' in Trial Advocacy. I worked so hard for that class. I deserve an 'A', or rather I would like one.

Stephen and I went to go see Gangs of New York today. The movie was amazing, and as much as this shames me for once Leo Dicaprio did not look boyish, and was actually handsome. hehe. By far though, one of the best things about the movie was Daniel Day Lewis. My God, he's such an actor. I told Stephen that he deserves to win the Oscar. He's that good. I'd see the movie again just to see him act. For some reason his movies always have that effect on me.
My only gripe with the film was with the music. Some of it was outstanding, but there were a series of notes that almost had me humming the LOTR theme. That's when I knew Howard Shore was responsible for the score. Why can't conductor's escape this trap they set for themselves? Seriously, many of the notes seemed to come straight from the LOTR score. It's like the James Horner curse. You can tell he's composed a score because there never fails to be a small theme taken straight from Titanic or even Legends of the Fall. It's annoying in the way a John Woo movie can annoy you after he's used the dove trick for the nth time! It looks great in Face/Off but it's downright laughable in Mission Impossible 2.
I guess I'm just peeved that the score didn't end up being as good as it seemed to be.
The rest of the movie was fine, and the ending shots were truely touching. It was about a minute's worth of scenes of New York during each time period up until pre 9/11. I was hoping the Twin Towers would make an appearance and they did. Stephen and I thought the next shot would be present day New York, but the movie ended with the towers and I'm glad.

Ok, I can't believe it. I'm actually anxious to get back to school. Why? Well I miss everyone. A bunch of us in C are close, and they're all in SA right now getting ready for class on Monday, or at least pretending too.
It's funny. 1Ls are so shocked when they see us not panic during finals. We're so laid back (it's a facade), and I guess it's because we know what to expect. At least we'd like to think so. Now they get to start their second semester and I'm about to start my last. Now I know how my buddies felt when they graduated last month. It's almost here, and I think senioritis too.
Back I say!!
Grades aren't up yet. They were supposed to start going up today, but either the network hates me, or it's a school conspiracy. Both are very possible. One of my classes was canceled so I'm going to try to get into Mediation. If I get in, I'm dropping International Human Rights and adding Copyright Law. If I can't get in, then I'm still getting into Copyright Law because there is no other class I can take unless of course it's full, then I'm screwed. I've done my fair share of bar courses, and the ones still available are either taught by bad teachers who love to fail students, and/or they're offered at a bad time.
At least it's almost over, but I know that's the least of my worries.

Alright, I fiddled around some more and I'm starting to like it. Of course it looks alot like the member's area, but there are differences, and I didn't even look at the code so all of this is new.
I'm still far from finishing the configuration. Comments work, but the page isn't configured. Same goes for the archives and the individual entries. I have added categories, which I positively love.
Moveabletype has all these nifty goodies, and it can handle mysql, which is what I need since I make too many entries methinks. Who cares, right? I'm thinking of the endless possibilities here.
Anyway, here's the new layout. If you get the chance, let me know if you like it.

I hate this layout. Bloody hell. It's back to the drawing board I guess.
I did finish my book! Warlock by Wilbur Smith. Have I mentioned how much I like his writing? It's brilliant in a non-intellectual way. River God is still my favorite.

I knew this would happen. Methinks I'm no longer fond of this layout, but I've been tolling away at it for hours and it's going to stay like this at least for now. Maybe sooner than later?
Not everything has been configured, but at least the main part is up. I'm still working on it. 😉
