More teenagers are discovering s - e - x, and now the world is going to end. Abstinence only programs don't seem to be quite helping, though it's interesting that in a few states some programs tend to be very well rounded. Medically accurate info, acceptance of diverse relationships, and this includes people with disABILITIES. My heros.

There are some pretty juicy rumors up at Loy's site. Apparently, either Bon Jovi or Springsteen might be making an appearance at the Friday night pep rally before the ND v. USC showdown. I guess it's because it's a Jersey thing, and Charlie boy is from Jersey.
Jealous much?
OMG yes!!!!!!! The coolest person my class got to meet was Regis Philbin! Been there. Done that. Move on.
Lou Holtz might be there too, but really. He was there my freshman year, and that was pretty nifty. I just never understood what he saw in Ron Paulus. Then Davie took over and the football program went to hell, and everyone thought it would be cool to do a D instead of an L during the 1812 Overture at the beginning of the 4th quarter. We should have left that alone.
Ahh, the memories.
The Irish are so going to knock the Trojans off their #1 spot this weekend. Bye-bye Trojans!

Apparently, I was mistaken when I assumed that it was possible to record music off of satellite broadcasts. Fortunately, it's not something that will remain an impossibility, unless the RIAA has its way.
In August Sirius said it would introduce a small portable device, dubbed the S50, for its subscription radio service that can store 50 hours of music, news and programs from Sirius channels, in a move to narrow the gap with XM Satellite, which has had a portable device on the market since last fall.
Beginning in the fourth quarter, XM will also begin to offer MP3-enabled portable satellite radios developed by Korea's Samsung Electronics Co Ltd.
Even if the conflict winds up in court, Crockett said in his report he did not believe such a suit would succeed because fair use laws allow users to record songs for their own use.
He said it could would pose a "headline risk" for satellite radio and prompt a lobbying push by the recording industry as the two industries wrangle over a new music rights contract.
Crockett said the RIAA may seek $1 billion plus in music rights fees for a new contract covering 2007 to 2012 to replace the current $80 million pact that expires in 2006.
The recording industry time and time again keeps forgetting those two magic words: fair use. Sooner or later Best Buy will stop selling tapes because it will be illegal to record off of regular radio. Apparently there is no parallel.

Thanks to a fellow Texas blogger I accidently found out yesterday when the passing list will go up in November. Since then I've started to become a wreck. It's a fact that I haven't been able to enjoy an October in years. Halloween even less, which bugs me because my roommate and I have a party, and I spend most of it practically terrified.
Am I in denial this time?

Damn you, Joss Whedon! Damn you!!! Serenity rocked, but must you tear my heart into shreds?

I can honestly say I'm busy, and September just seems to never end. It can continue to truck on just for me, thank you very much. Let's see, I'm teaching Spanish, which allows me to correct the balance a bit. If I hear another parkiar from a San Antonian I think I may have to hire my own lawyer after I run that person over with my scooter. ::cringe::
Anyway...
I still haven't finished watching all the tv shows I taped (downloaded) from this week. Some of the new shows are intriguing, and some are just there. I love "Threshold" and found myself having to tape it and watch it Saturday during the day. That show is just too freaky! Of course I still haven't seen episode #2, but I'm working on it. I was also intrigued with "Supernatural" because of the dynamic between the brothers, but seriously, did they have to name one of them Dean? Confusing! Especially since the younger one was named Dean previously on "Gilmore Girls." It's taking time to get used to, but I'm enjoying the show. I can't say the same about "Invasion." I might give it the 3 episode try, or I might not. Same with "How I Met Your Mother," which felt forced to me. Don't get me wrong, I love Aly! And she was wonderful in the pilot. I guess that comedies with laugh tracks aren't my thing, and I say laugh tracks because on the other side is "Kitchen Confidential" and I loved it! I'm also watching "Bones" and "House" and "Rome" and well with "Veronica Mars" starting this week along with "Boston Legal" and I want to check out "Close to Home," well, methinks the 3 episode rule is out the door!!

The roommie and I went to check the mail today, which on some days can be very pleasant since we both have growing busy schedules, and lo and behold there was a small rectangular pamphlet waiting for me. She read my name, said November, and I practically screeched, begging her not to say another word. The damning piece of paper was after all the date slated for the release of bar exam scores.
Ugh, my stomach just imploded.
Someone, anyone. Promise you will call me on the day names go up online to give me good news for a change.

So, now it's a Category 5, and according to my mother it's going to destroy Galveston. What a reality check.
She just called to beg me to go home, except San Antonio is further in land, and the path of Rita is supposed to hit on the eastside. I live on the northwest side of the city. That doesn't rule out the nasty flooding we'll get or tornados, and it doesn't erase all the ugly images everyone has witnessed in the last three weeks. Galveston, Houston, and Corpus are in the firing line, and it's not a nice thought.

This is killing me!!!!!!!!!! And for the record, I think my throat is now raw. I'm like my own mini stadium. hehe

Roberts came out of nowhere, and as much as I'm leary of him, I'm rather glad it's not Owens. Now that there's a potential for a second nominee, I dread an Owens nomination, but if Law Dork is right, and I think he is because it seems like it's the obvious choice, then maybe the Court won't be in such bad shape. Then again, these are conservatives. Then again it can go any way.
