A Colorado judge has thrown out a death sentence where the jury used the Bible during its deliberations. I got chills reading that they were even allowed to consult the Bible. A jury is supposed to follow a judge's instructions, not a book. I'm shocked it was even allowed in the room with them.

Wang sued over needle. A client stepped on a needle in the store where she was trying on one of Wang's bride's dresses. She even stated that the floor was littered with sewing materials. She just thought it would be smart to walk around barefoot.

Just got back from seeing The Matrix: Reloaded, and right as we left the theater the migraine hit, but I think I caught it on time for once. I'm just waiting for the nausea to go away, and I should probably lie down.
The movie was amazing. It was like reading a comic book, but instead of turning pages and admiring images, it's all played out on the big screen. The action scenes were incredible. I didn't care much for the battle against all the Agent Smiths, partly because there was too much slow motion, and it looked more like a computer simulation. It's my only gripe about the movie. Everything else was just fantastic. Katie was amused with the Frenchman since she was the only one in the theater who understood what he was saying (all nasty cuss words). I like the fight immediately following it, and the highway chase. It was downright awesome, not to mention I was very much amused with the twins. I really liked that it started out rather slow, and the dance scene intermixed with the love scene was very poignant. Needless to say, I want the soundtrack, and methinks a second viewing is in order.
The movie ends with tons of unanswered questions, and the philosophy underlying the story is amazing. I like movies that make you think, that don't deliver everything at the end on a silver plater. What I was watching on screen was a story being told in a universe completely of its own. Katie likened it to Star Wars and we both understood why many compared it to the Empire Strikes Back. It's very revealing, yet at the same time the new discovery is open-ended. It's all about choice.
One little word of advice. If you haven't seen it yet, I'd suggest you see the Animatrix shorts first, then the movie. The movie contains references and people that are in the shorts, so it might be a tad confusing though not vital to your enjoyment of the movie.

I'm sorry for the lack in ramblings. Between getting used to the new scooter, traveling back and forth to school, studying for the bar, and cooking, I just have no time!! I am more comfortable with the scooter now, which is a plus. I just need to get myself into the habit of taking time to study after I've left the school. I didn't go yesterday, but I did study for 4 hours, so I'm proud of myself. The goal is to get through the rest of Evidence today, and then tackle Contracts for the next three days, taking the test on Tuesday when the group meets back up. Then we review everything and start on Torts. I feel like a 1L! Scary. It would be scarier if I didn't remember anything, but thankfully I do.
On the schedule for today is a visit to the movies to see the Matrix!

I'm still working on the Buffy review. I had to watch it again before I could start. Actually, Katie and I watched the first two episodes of season 1, and then we watched the last episode ever. It will require more viewings before I'm satisfied. I still can't believe it's over.
The roommate and I are now speculating as to what will happen on Angel. We're both looking foward to the smack down between Angel and Spike. We think Spike is the one prophesied, and that he'll return as a human. I'm not sure I like that idea. Well, as long as he doesn't return as William the bloody awful poet.
Then there is the spin off. There was much speculation, but the roomy and I have both decided that the red head who was doing some major ass kickage will probably be one of the main actors in a new series, should there be one a year from now. And, I just realized that one of the slayers in training that I really liked also died in the episode. Just, not cool.
But, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Anyway, I'm happy despite the fact that I've been pouring over evidence today, and my back was being a pain. I'm really having a difficult time getting used to the new scooter, but boy does that thing go fast!! I was zooming down the hill near my apartment full speed. The wind felt good. I just don't drive it to well. Oops.
And yay! Rueben Studdard won!

"The earth is doomed." - Giles Welcome to the Hellmouth/ Harvest
"The earth is definately doomed." - Giles, 7 years later Chosen
It's remarkable how the smallest phrase can evoke so much. It's a testament to the last seven years. It's a sweet reminder that after all that time that friendship is still there along with all the viewers who have followed Buffy the Vampire through its good times and its bad.
It's hard to believe it's all over.
I started watching the show at the end of season 3. I had been dying to see it before then, but my city didn't carry the WB. That is not until I came home for summer vacation and had the opportunity to see "Graduation." Needless to say, I got hooked, and I have watched this show every Tuesday since then. What will Tuesday nights be like now without Buffy and the Scoobies? I have no clue.
I remember seeing my mother cry a few years ago after her favorite show ended. It was sad, but I didn't see what the big deal was. Now I do. Buffy is a subculture. It's a representation of our fears and our joys, real life in all it's twisted splendor. The only catch is that many of those fears manifested into real monsters, and some found that cheesy. Too bad for them.

Today will be devoted to a review of the last episode of Buffy and the joys of Civil Procedure, which I have not touched since my first year in law school.
Tomorrow I will be in mourning. Gah!!!!

It's official. I'm a lawyer. Yes, run while you can. 😉
Graduation was yesterday, and my friends made me cry! When they announced my name, and I rolled across the stage, the entire student body stood along with half the people in the Convocation Center. I still get all weepy thinking about it, and I don't know what to say though I bet any pictures taken at the time will bear a very red faced me.
I still can't believe it. Granted, I can't practice yet. Not until I pass the bar in November. But that's ok. The key is to pass the bar, and it will happen. I guarantee it.
It was nice to see everyone at graduation too.
My family came and so did Lisa and Katie, and we ate at La Fogata. I had the best green enchiladas. My mouth still waters just thinking about it. Afterwards we went back to the dorm and managed to pack all of my belongings in three cars. Now I'm here in my apartment, enjoying my free wireless connection and watching Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I just said goodbye to my parents, and for now I'm just fine. Though there is still tons of unpacking to be done.

Woe for FOX and American Idol. Apparently, the idea for the show was stolen by Cowell and his associates. I'm wondering if it's a SOL case.
By the way, why couldn't it have been a Locke and Studdard finale. I don't like Clay Aiken.
