softly do i speak to you tonight

Softly do I speak to you tonight,
And hold you in my arms so tight.
Alone together do we dream,
Of rivers seeping into streams.

Softly do you fall asleep.
Your face so pale, it makes me weep.
I lay beside you and close my eyes,
And dream of lights, the fireflies.

Morning comes and I awake,
To see you sleep, but then to quake.
Softtly do you say adieu,
And then I say adieu to you.
